Boiled in Lead - FEATURED ARTIST!

Join us at The Smith Opera House on Saturday April 10th for Boiled in Lead! They're also the WHWS Featured Artist - hear them every hour at the top of the hour from 11am - 12mid every day!

Rock’n’reel. Punk-folk. Country music from many countries... just some of the ways to describe this band. Boiled In Lead is fiddle, guitar, bass and drums with loads of power and emotion.

BiL are innovators in bringing “folk music” to rock audiences (and vice versa). The band's many instrumental dance tunes incorporate global influences, rhythms, and melodies that are guaranteed to keep the feet moving. Original songs stick in the mind long after the concert is over. The players improvise freely yet stay in sync, playing a vital mix of original and traditional material. The group and the individual musicians have won over 20 Minnesota Music Awards, and toured throughout the US and in Europe.

Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday at 2:00AM!

Don't forget the phrase spring forward / fall back and to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to sleep on Saturday night! Yes, you lose an hour of sleep, but at least the sun "sets an hour later" than it has been and I think we'll all take any sign of spring that we can get!

The official changeover is at 2am, meaning that clocks skip from 1:59:59AM to 3:00:00AM. This will mean WHWS will "go to Radio Bilingue" an hour early this Sunday.

If you're so inclined, you can read up on the history of DST on wikipedia!

FATSC takes a Break - SPRING BREAK!!!

Fridays at the Scandling Cafe takes a break and won't be happening on March 12th or 19th due to it being Spring Break at Hobart & William Smith and thus none of our student DJ's will be around. And there won't be much of an audience at the Scandling center, either.

But we'll be back with a venegance on Friday March 26th as we continue the WEAR PURPLE FOR PURPLE PEEPS giveaway for Relay for Life!

Spring is in the air...and so is Lacrosse!

With spring comes Lacrosse and that means full HWS lacrosse coverage on WEOS & WHWS. Join sportscasters Ted Baker, Joe Lasky, Ken DeBolt, Scott Yoder, Janelle Walkley, Lex Kridler and Kevin Mirchandani as they bring you all the active LIVE!

All games for the Hobart Statesmen are on WEOS 89.7FM.

*** WHWS will not be covering the SUNY Brockport & Messiah College games played in West Palm Beach, Florida...much as we'd like to...and there's a handful of away games at lax fields that don't have AC power or telco so we can't cover the game.
