MOVING UP DAY on WHWS

Friday, April 30th
at around 5:30pm tune in to WHWS 105.7FM for MOVING UP DAY!

Held each spring, this academic awards ceremony is one of William Smith College's oldest traditions. Moving-Up Day ceremonially marks the moment when all classes "move up" as seniors "commence" to graduation and leave their class space to the juniors, the juniors to the sophomores, and the sophomores to the first-years.

(note: Moving-Up Day begins at 4:30pm, the lacrosse game begins at 4pm and is expected to finish around 5:30pm. We will tape-delay Moving-Up Day to begin immediately after the lax game ends)

Come see WHWS at the HWS Open House!

Stop by the Scandling Student Center on Saturday April 17th and 24th, both from 1:15 to 3:00pm to chat with WHWS student & professional staff as we attempt to lure prospective students into our trap show off how awesome it is to work in radio at WHWS! :-)

We'll be available to answer any questions and we'll probably have some cool station swag to give away, too! Do I smell free t-shirts...???

Featured Artist: ALEX TORRES & His LATIN ORCHESTRA!

Every hour from 11am to 12mid you'll hear a track from Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra. Why? Because they're our featured artist and they're coming to The Smith Opera House to play live on Saturday April 23rd at 8pm...that's why! :-)

Tickets available at thesmith.org or call (315) 781-LIVE

Formed October 1980 in Amsterdam, NY (just west of Albany - fellow upstaters!) this 11 piece orchestra is led by the Bronx-born bassist Alex Torres. They have been presented by hundreds of festivals, performing arts centers and events annually to perform their original blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as Salsa, Merengue, Cha-Cha, Bomba, Plena and Latin Jazz.
