Another Remarkable WHWS Alum!

Michael Monteiro '10 and Cabot Roy '11 have joined the team at, a company at work to revolutionize the inner-workings of financial recruitment.

Called "Wall Street's answer to Linked-in," the online service connects clients with potential employees from a community of more than 250,000 finance professions. Beneficial to both employers and job-seekers, OneWire matches candidates for positions based on specific qualifications and interests.

"I took a risk working at a start-up," explains Monteiro. "It seemed exciting and I wanted be a part of the whole Silicon Alley- dot com- movement happening in New York City."

As a sales manager, Monteiro is responsible for creating and maintaining new business relationships in the realm of finance consisting of investment banks, hedge funds, private equity and similar firms. Joining the OneWire team after graduation, Monteiro serves in a sales management role, currently managing accounts.

The following year, Cabot landed a competitive internship which led to his current position as Sales Associate.

"In retrospect, working at OneWire has turned out to be a great decision given the amount of experience I have been able to gain," says Monteiro. "I have also made important connections."

Current students can take advantage of OneWire by creating a profile online. Instantly, profiles can be matched to entry-level opportunities in finance.

While at HWS, Monteiro majored in public policy and minored in English. He studied abroad in Lingnan, was a member of Kappa Alpha, and was a recipient of the Charles H. Salisbury Endowed Internship Fund. He also had a show on WHWS and helped review new music!

Roy majored in history and had a double minor in philosophy, and law and society. He studied abroad in Maastricht, was a member of Kappa Alpha, and is currently a Gold volunteer for Alumni House.
